We're Jomax Sew and Vac Centers, Inc.
Jomax was started in 1972 by Joseph and Maxine Uttenreither in Randallstown , Maryland. Opening day presented the community with fashion fabrics, sewing notions, and supplies. They were the first independent Singer dealer in Maryland, carrying a full line of sewing machines and vacuum cleaners. They quickly became known as "the place to go" for anything sewing.
In 1975 they opened their second location in Westminster, Maryland. Joe and Maxine's son Michael managed that location.
Joe and Maxine retired in 1993, Joe "Mr. U" passed away in 1998.
Located in the 140 Village Shopping Center Jomax is owned and operated by Mike and Dianna Uttenreither. We have expanded greatly from the original "Singer Store" in the 70's and now specialize in the top brands, such as Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff, Brother, Singer, Simplicity, Miele, Electrolux, Hoover, Eureka, and more.
