SEWING CAMP FOR KIDS
Two Programs Offered -- for little kids, too!
KIDS SEW FUN
This
is beginning sewing for ages 8 through 15 years old. There will be two sessions.
We will make a simple bean bag in the first class, and a pretty pillow in the
second class. We will provide the sewing machines to use. Kids will need to
bring basic notions listed on supply list. Kits will be provided with fabric,
beans, and pillow form. Class Fee: $30 for both sessions. Kit fee of $15 is
payable to instructor on day of class.

PRE-SEWING FUN
This
is for ages 6 through 8 years old. We will make a tied Fleece Pillow Project: No
machine will be used, but kids will learn to create something with fabric. This
class will teach dexterity and the joy of making something they can use.
Children will be introduced to simple sewing tools, and how to handle them
safely. Kit will be provided with fabric and pillow form. Class Fee: $15, kit

HEIRLOOM BABY BONNET, A MARTHA PULLEN LICENSED CLASS

This
bonnet is surprisingly easy to make. The front edge of the brim is finished with
a double-scalloped Madeira border and is attached to the body of the bonnet with
entredeux. Gathered lace edging embellishes the joining seam with the body of
the bonnet. Narrow silk satin ribbon is run through a back casing, making the
size adjustable. Two tiny silk satin ribbon bows attach the wider ribbon ties. A

wall hanging uses a method of construction that enables you to quilt as you
piece the blocks together. Once learned, you can adapt this method to any size

EAT YOUR VEGGIES! RE-USABLE GROCERY BAG

Plastic
Grocery Bags take approximately 500 years to disintegrate! (Now how did they
find that out?) Let’s do our part and make our own bags to carry our groceries
in. Sure, we can buy re-usable ones at the stores, but make yours special!
Choose a sturdy fabric, and decorate as desired! We chose vegetables, to remind
us to buy and eat more vegetables, but just have fun with your favorite
embellishments! In this class we will embroider the design and construct the
